In the midst of a new wave of extreme brutal metal, Short Fuse sets themselves apart with their unique brand of melodic death metal that is leaving a path of destruction in their wake. Since the 2005 release of their debut album, "Hate Brought to this Place Called Home" shortly after forming in 2004, they have become one of the hardest working bands in metal. The album, which was produced by Juan Urteaga (Vile, Machine Head, Skinlab) with select tracks engineered by Professional Murder Music frontman Roman Marisak and skillfully mastered by Tom Baker of Precision Mastering (Marilyn Mason, Rob Zombie, Nine Inch Nails), kick started the band into full gear the moment it dropped.
No stranger to the stage, they have toured nationally on many occasions and dominated thousands of fans at festivals such as California Metalfest, Locobazooka, Rockin' Roots, End of Days, and LocoFest. They have performed with many of the dominating players in the metal scene including Fear Factory, Suicide Silence, Job for a Cowboy, Mudvayne, Disturbed and (hed) pe along with legends such as Alice in Chains, Obituary and countless others. Short Fuse is known for infecting their audience by delivering unforgettable performances that leave their bruised and intense fans bloodthirsty for more!
With the release of their second album, "Shred the Dead", Short Fuse has grown by leaps and bounds. The new sound implements a more aggressive, driving, rip-your-face-off style that they feel right at home with. Shred the Dead, which was recorded at Trident Studios by Juan Urteaga and produced by Sleiz E Smith, is 12 tracks of brutal grinding metal that embodies everything Short Fuse is about. From radio friendly tracks such as Creature and Defeated to ruthless tracks like Lifeless and Nail it to the Brain as well as the dark, blackened tones of Rape Your Sanity and Shred the Dead, the latest effort from Short Fuse not only raises the bar for the band, but sets a new standard for original metal.
With an arsenal consisting of screamer and intense guttural vocalist Myke Death DiBattista, the eerie leads of Scott "Beef" Chavez, Chris LaPoint's distorted rhythm static, low end thud producer Tony X, the relentless beatings slammed by Ricardo Alvarez, and MarTin Boynton's insane symphonic spasms, the musical world is being taken by storm. So turn your stereos up, leave the weak behind, and prepare for the impending blood-bath. There is an epidemic hitting your town; the Short Fuse disease is spreading fast!
